They're done!
You may remember these, a little worse for wear with a shot finish and needing a total tear down.  (See the original post here)
After ripping them apart, we applied two coats of Annie Sloan's Louis Blue and washed them with a mix of Old White, Country Grey & Coco.  They got a good clear waxing, then we took out the jute stretcher and gave the back some support which was lacking with the original upholstery.
We made what seemed like miles of double welting out of vintage French linen.  If you'd like to know how to make it yourself, there's a great tutorial on Centsational Girl's blog
We reupholstered them in a great, nubby grey linen and then attached the welting. After a bit of trial and error & a lot of chatter we're very pleased with the outcome.  Hope you are too!
....and it only took us twice as long as we thought it would!
These will be available for sale at the Marché this Saturday individually or as a pair unless someone claims them first (update, someone did!, yippee!!)

Hope to see you there!

I love the chair redo, those chairs had beautiful bones to begin with too!
I'm so excited to have found an (english) blogger from Switzerland, let along Neuchatel! I lived in Marin-Epagnier for a little over 10 years (about 12 years ago)...
How exciting! :)
I'm off to search your blog for photos of Neuchatel.

Hi Vikki,
I wish I could come visit and take one of your classes, but alas I'm now living in beautiful Colorado. Too bad, as I do miss Switzerland dearly...
