Oh Gigi! I smile and think of Leslie Caron and Louis Jourdan every time I look at this one.... I know it's a stretch, but that movie put me on the path to full fledged Francophilia (and towards, thus, my husband) at a very tender age, even if it was years before I truly understood the plot. My daughter is sweetly ignorant of it too as she sings "I don't understand za Pariiiisians, making looove everytime zay get a chance......." I'm enjoying her innocence while it lasts, however fleeting it may be.
Here's my latest, hand drawn in reminiscence of sacks I've come across throughout my travels in France, Germany and cyburbia. I would love to see this end up in a farmhouse
or on a ranch.
Like all my cushion slips, it's handprinted in any environmentally friendly fashion on reclaimed, vintage European textiles. The one shown here has been lightened, but I can whip on up on natural grain sack fabric too as shown on the back pillow below.
Here's a close up so you can get a sense of the print and fabric quality. It's beautifully slubbed and conveys a great sense of age.
I'm taking orders for Christmas now, so please let me know if I can create something special for you by dropping me a line here in comments or visiting my shop!
