Don't let it be forgot........

We had visitors last week..... working visitors..... my parent-in-law, who are super, tireless organizers.... something I, unfortunately, am not.  They love a project, and my stock of grain sacks and vintage linens had gotten out of hand, overtaking our family room and dining table in heaps, piles and unfolded messes while an armoire sat looking pretty, but completely underutilized.  So that I don't forget their good work, and because I know in my heart of hearts it will likely never look like this again, I'm recording it for posterity.

The armoire itself, which belonged to Arnaud's grandparents,  is an impressive 3 meters tall and it was our mission to find a place for it when we moved to Switzerland as otherwise it was to be left in the family farmhouse for the buyers.  Without this piece in mind, we likely wouldn't have pushed our relocation assistant as hard as we did and surely wouldn't have found our home with its generous proportions including 4 meter ceilings.

The beautiful detail work at the bottom actually conceals a hidden drawer where the family's precious belongings were stored for generations.  Since I only have fabric in there, I don't mind sharing the secret.  I wish you all a lovely day!  Thanks for taking the time to stop by, I'm off to mess up that armoire and get some cushions done!

That wardrobe is amazing. I would love to have something like that in my home. I'm a new follower and I love your pictures!
